Help with connecting to Remote Wifi (Actiontec)

Postby sylvangu » Fri Jul 23, 2010 5:38 pm

Hello JumiTech, I am very happy with your product, but...I am quite disappointed at the same time.

I need help, is what I'm saying.
When I connect to my Local WiFi, it works completely fine. However, when I try to connect somewhere else, I cannot access my computer. I have an iPod Touch.

And yes, I have read the Connection Troubleshooting Guide and the 3G and Remote Connection Guide.

I have an Actiontec router and I did enable UPnP. Any suggestions?
Or could you guys possibly make a guide for my Actiontec router? I'm quite sad because I am going on a trip in a few hours, and I won't be able to access my computer because it's not working. :-(

Once again, my router is by Actiontec and is GT724-WG.
Please reply ASAP, though I won't be able to try it this time I'm out of town.

Thanks,
-Sylvan

hi Sylvangu,

here are the exact instructions for your ActionTec GT724R

1. In the JumiController settings, uncheck "Try enabling remote access automatically". Then save & shut down JumiController
2. follow the exact step-by-step instructions in this link: http://portforward.com/english/routers/ ... roller.htm
3. Restart your router when finished, and run JumiController

Thanks Benny! You're the best! I'm still on that trip I said earlier but I'll be sure to try it out when I get back tonight!

I'll update you if there are any problems.

Hello Benny,
I am in the same boat as Sylvan. From the forum I can say my modem router "Billion 7404VGPX" require a port forwarding set up. I am quite excited to use the technology (Jumi Gamer) though I have poor IT skills. I have purchased the Jumi Gamer couple a days ago but again when at home can connect to my PC with my iTouch but when I try to connect from a seperate Wi-fi connection from a different location, it wont allow me to connect. My request and would highly appreciate if you could send me a step by step guide to setup my modem router "Billion 7404VGPX".
Below is one of the error log message:
Aug 02 21:09:43 home.gateway:firewall:info: 843151.425 Blocked Prot=17, 192.168.1.1:59790 > 192.255.255.255:5720 -Default Defense

Please help. Thanking you in adavance.
